What is the purpose of UIL?
The purpose of the UIL is to organize and properly supervise contests that assist in preparing students for citizenship. It aims to provide healthy, character building, educational activities carried out under rules providing for good sportsmanship and fair play for all participants.
What is UIL Social Studies?
The Social Studies Contest consists of 45 objective questions and an essay. Students are expected to master primary reading selections, as well as speci c documents, and to be familiar with general- knowledge social studies concepts and terms.
What is the UIL Conference?
The UIL conducts Student Activity Conferences (SACs) every fall featuring all of the high school academic events. The conferences, designed to help students begin to prepare for high school academic and fine arts contests are free, and no pre-registration is required.

What are UIL rules?

- have not graduated from high school,
- are full-time, day students in the school, and have been in regular attendance at the school since the 6th class day of the present school year, or have been in regular attendance for 15 or more calendar days before the contest or competition,
What is current events UIL?
“Current events” are defined as those that have occurred during the current school year so any material after Aug. 16, 2021 is fair game for any exam. However, the following cut-off dates may assist in studying for multiple-choice questions.
How long is the UIL social studies test?
90 minutes
Expect to spend no less than 15 minutes for roll call, opening remarks and checking the test. The contest is 90 minutes in length. Stay on schedule as some students may need to go to other events.
Is FFA a UIL?
Examples of Non UIL activities include Cheerleading, Drill Team, Musical, FFA, DECA, Academic Decathlon, FBLA etc.
