Can you skip Bronze DofE and go straight to Silver? You can complete the Silver DofE award without having completed Bronze, however it will take longer.

Can I take my phone on DofE?
As a minimum you will need 2 pairs, one to wear and a spare pair. However some participants prefer to have a fresh pair of socks for each day of their expedition. Can I bring my mobile phone? Yes – but it should only be used in case of an emergency.

For the Qualifying Journey, the team is required to be self-sufficient and independent. The requirements for each level of the Award are: 2 days and 1 night, with a minimum of 6 hours of activity per day. 3 days and 2 nights, with a minimum of 7 hours of activity per day.
